The Cinematographic Series

Initiated in 2021 and continuing to evolve to this day, The Cinematographic Series presents a refined exploration of painting on raw linen canvas. Executed entirely by hand, these works; most often in formats of 130 x 130 cm, 120 x 100 cm, and 100 x 70 cm, embody a disciplined yet experimental approach to contemporary painting.

Oil is meticulously combined with selected pigments, binders, resins, and adhesives to achieve complex layered surfaces and nuanced control of light. The materiality is intentional and sophisticated, resulting in tactile depth, subtle luminosity, and a quiet interplay between opacity and transparency.

The series distills classical visual motifs; folded drapery, illuminated surfaces, faint botanical projections, into compositions that hover between minimal abstraction and restrained figuration. Forms emerge and recede, balancing realism and reduction, presence and absence. Light becomes both subject and medium, activating the surface through shadow, reflection, and the occasional sheen of resin or sculptural impasto.

Each work carries a cinematic stillness, a suspended moment charged with atmosphere. The dialogue between hand and material remains visible, lending the paintings both intellectual rigor and emotional resonance. This body of work is conceived for discerning collectors and connoisseurs of contemporary art who value innovation, craftsmanship, and the subtle power of material expression.
