Description

This painting is inspired by the magical nocturnal guest that pays us a visits on fresh summer nights while we are painting. Native American shamanic teachers believe that moths are the guides of the dreamtime, teaching us wisdom of the dreamtime and the rich wildness of our dark natures.

Darkness and light are an integrated creative life force as moths come out at night, they are drawn to the light. Moths often appear to be dancing around the light sources indicating that the one should not take things too seriously, and serve as a reminder to bring happiness and balance back in life, no matter the darkness around.

The life is never quite the way it appears, there is always light, and the moth symbolism urges us to seek that light within us.
