This vibrant, colouristic, one-of-a-kind painting in oil and mixed media by Vjeran Cengic presents an abstracted, geometric interpretation of the Church of St. Euphemia in Rovinj. Fragmented triangles and circles construct a stylized, almost abstract figurative composition. The upper section depicts a fractured sky in nuanced shades of blue, while the church’s façade and tower emerge through layered, pastel-infused planes of light pink and yellow tones. To the right, a tree and its broken canopy punctuate the composition, while the left corner hints at a cypress. The entire work is built from repetitive geometric patterns, densely layered with impasto, creating a dynamic interplay of form, colour, and texture.
