The Cinematographic Series

The Cinematographic Series, initiated in 2021 and evolving ever since, presents a profound exploration of painting on raw linen canvas. Each work is executed entirely by hand and most often appears in sizes of 130 by 130 centimeters, 120 by 100 centimeters, or 100 by 70 centimeters, embodying a disciplined yet experimental approach to contemporary painting.

Oil is meticulously combined with carefully selected pigments, binders, resins, and adhesives to create complex layered surfaces and a nuanced control of light. The material presence is deliberate and sophisticated, producing tactile depth, subtle luminosity, and a quiet interplay between opacity and transparency that invites close observation.

The series distills classical visual motifs such as folded drapery, illuminated surfaces, and faint botanical projections into compositions that hover between minimal abstraction and restrained figuration.
